Glenview United Methodist Youth (GUMY)

…the primary task of youth ministry:

  • To love youth where they are,
  • To encourage them in developing their relationship to God,
  • To provide them with opportunities for nurture and growth, and
  • To challenge them to respond to God's call to serve in their communities

-- From The Book of Discipline, 1118.2

At Glenview United Methodist Church, we meet this responsibility for youth ministry through a balance of spiritual growth, fellowship, mission and community outreach. All youth are encouraged to find ways to participate in the life and mission of the church. This can include:

  • Attending youth Sunday school classes
  • Being an usher or lay reader for worship
  • Attending Sunday youth group (GUMY)
  • Serving on church committees
  • Helping with lunch at Glenview Senior Center
  • Raising money/food for food local food pantries
  • Serving on the week long Appalachia Service Project

You can download Permission Forms for GUMY events at the bottom of this page.
